Antique 1907 Chester 15ct gold pearl mourning ring, UK P.5, US 8

A gorgeous antique Edwardian 15ct yellow gold mourning ring set with little seed pearls, the ring has a buckle decoration to the front, a gorgeous engraved band with open panels set with intricately plaited chestnut brown hair. With a crisp Chester hallmark for 1907 and very little sign of wear this ring is an absolute delight. In the Victorian mourning style this is a beautifully made ring full of meaning, the buckle is an abiding symbol of eternal love. It cannot be washed or immersed in water because of the plaited hair.
